Make
sure you are using the correct size. If head circumference
measures 56 cm or greater, use the large size. If measurement is
less than 56 cm, use the small size. (If head circumference
measures less than 56 cm but the patient has a lot of hair, you
may still need the large size.) |
|
|
Explain
the procedure to the patient. |
|
|
Place
“Mark Easy 10-20” on patient’s head. Secure it by aligning
the lowest grommets on coronal band against tragus points on both
sides. Adjust using the Velcro fit adjustment pieces on each
side and the Velcro fastener. |
|
|
Pull
gently on both ends of sagital band. Align last grommets on
each end to nasion and inion, respectively. Secure nasion marker
on patients face with a piece of medical adhesive tape. |
|
|
Adjust
frontal and parietal bands as needed for proper positioning, and
secure both Velcro fit adjusters and the Velcro fastener. |
|
|
Mark
electrode locations designated by grommets on “Mark Easy
10-20” using a marker normally used in your laboratory or
clinic. (For most accurate results, make a cross mark (+) for each
location without angling pen.) |
|
|
Apply
electrodes and perform procedure. Discard unit after use. |
|
|
(Note:
Once applied, the “Mark Easy 10-20” will stay in place in most
cases. In rare instances, it may slip at the inion. If this
happens, have the patient place right fingers over inion marker
and hold. This will prevent slipping. Then mark scalp as
usual.) |
